Ownership & access
How to give Google Business Profile manager access without sharing your password
You can get help with your Google Business Profile while keeping ownership of it. Use a separate manager invitation so the person doing the work can sign in with their own Google Account.
Agree on the work before inviting anyone
Confirm the provider’s identity and the exact email address they will use. Put the agreed work in writing: which profile they will manage, which facts need your approval, and how they will report completed changes.
For a routine tune-up, ask why any permission beyond manager access would be needed. You should understand the access request before accepting it.
Invite a manager from profile settings
Google’s current instructions are to open your Business Profile, choose More, then Business Profile settings, and open People and access. Select Add, enter the person’s email address, choose Manager, and send the invitation.
Owners can add users. The invited person accepts through their own account; you do not need to give them your Google password. If the controls differ, use Google’s linked instructions below rather than guessing which account to modify.
Keep ownership with your business
Google distinguishes owners from managers. Managers can handle many profile tasks but cannot add or remove users or remove the profile. Some capabilities for newly added owners or managers have a seven-day restriction.
Check that the business retains an owner account it controls. Do not transfer primary ownership as a routine onboarding step for profile edits. An invitation to manage the profile is different from handing over the business’s account.
Approve the inputs, then review the output
Give the provider one approved set of business facts and photos. A short change list makes it easier to tell which decisions were authorized and which still need your input.
When the work is delivered, compare the report with the public profile. Ask the provider to distinguish confirmed edits, pending submissions, and tasks that require your action. Keep a copy of the report with your business records.
Review access after the handoff
Return to People and access when the relationship ends and review who still needs permission. Removing a manager is different from removing the business profile itself; check the selected person and action carefully.
LeadLever’s $297 tune-up covers one verified, accessible profile. It uses manager access and never requires your Google password. The seven-business-day service window starts after required access, approved business facts, and photos are ready. Verification, suspension appeals, and ownership recovery are outside that scope.
